Father's Day
This Father's Day, we pause to give thanks for the men whose lives have helped shape ours. Some are fathers. Some are grandfathers. Some are stepfathers, adoptive fathers, uncles, coaches, teachers, or faithful mentors. Others have quietly invested in the lives of children, youth, and adults through simple acts of kindness, wisdom, encouragement, and faith. Whether through patient guidance, hard work, steady support, or a faithful example, these men remind us of the importance of caring for others and pointing people toward Christ. As a church family, we celebrate the men who serve with humility, lead with integrity, encourage with compassion, and faithfully walk alongside others. We also recognize that Father's Day can bring a variety of emotions. For some, it is a day of joyful celebration. For others, it carries memories of loss, longing, or difficult relationships. Wherever you find yourself today, we pray that you would experience the comfort, peace, and steadfast love of our Heavenly Father. To every man who has taken the time to encourage, teach, support, or simply be present in someone else's life: Thank you. Your kindness has made a difference. Happy Father's Day from your SLAC family. |

Renovate - Part 1What Are You Building Your Life On? - Sunday, June 14, 2026 Renovate: Building on a Firm FoundationLast Sunday, we began a two-part message series titled Renovate, presented by Ashley Wooldridge, Senior Pastor of CCV (Christ's Church of the Valley) in Phoenix, Arizona. Using Jesus' parable of the wise and foolish builders from Matthew 7, the message challenged us to consider an important question: What foundation are we building our lives upon? Many of us spend significant time and effort improving our homes, careers, finances, and outward appearance. Yet Jesus reminds us that the most important foundation is not found in the visible parts of our lives, but in our willingness to hear and obey God's Word. One of the central themes of the message was that storms are inevitable. Every person will face challenges, disappointments, hardships, and seasons of uncertainty. The difference is not whether storms come, but whether our foundation is strong enough to withstand them. Jesus teaches that a firm foundation is built not merely by hearing God's Word, but by putting it into practice. Information alone does not produce transformation. Growth happens when we take what God has revealed and faithfully apply it to our daily lives. As followers of Christ, we are invited to move beyond simply knowing what God says and begin living in obedience to His truth. It is through that obedience that our faith is strengthened and our lives become anchored in Christ. Reflection QuestionsAs you reflect on this week's message, consider:
Continue the ConversationFor those who would like to go deeper, we have included the message video and a discussion guide that can be used individually, with family, or in a small group setting. The discussion guide provides questions and practical applications to help you reflect on the message and encourage meaningful conversation throughout the week. We pray that God continues His work of renovation in each of our lives as we seek to build on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ. For more infomation visit:

Choose One Room
Last Sunday, we were reminded that Jesus is interested in more than appearances. He wants to transform our hearts from the inside out. Imagine your life as a house. If Jesus were to walk through the front door today, which "room" would you invite Him to spend time in? Would it be your relationships? Your priorities? Your thought life? Your schedule? Or perhaps a room you've quietly kept closed for a long time. Choose just one area this week and invite God to begin His work there. Read Matthew 7:24-27, pray honestly, and ask Him to strengthen the foundation of that part of your life. Remember, lasting transformation doesn't usually happen all at once. It happens one room at a time. |
