There's a certain satisfaction that comes with finishing a renovation project. Fresh paint, stronger walls, a room that finally works the way it was intended. But anyone who's ever tackled a renovation knows the work isn't always easy. Sometimes you discover hidden problems behind the walls, and sometimes the project requires skills you simply don't have on your own.

The same is true of our spiritual lives.

God is continually renovating us, shaping our hearts, renewing our thinking, and helping us become more like Christ. While we often think of faith as a personal journey, Scripture reminds us that it was never meant to be a solitary one. We grow best when we grow together.

One of the most encouraging truths from this week's message is that God often accomplishes His work in us through the people He places around us. Mentors help us grow in wisdom. Friends walk beside us through life's celebrations and hardships. Opportunities to serve allow us to encourage others while discovering that God is still at work in our own lives. Healthy Christian community isn't an optional addition to faith; it's one of God's primary tools for our transformation.

Who has helped shape my faith?

Who might God be inviting me to encourage this week?

Because renovation is rarely a one-person project, and neither is following Jesus.

One of the greatest myths our culture tells us is that strength means handling everything on our own. We admire independence, celebrate self-sufficiency, and quietly convince ourselves that asking for help is a sign of weakness. Yet from the very beginning of Scripture, God says something surprising: "It is not good for the man to be alone." Isolation was humanity's first problem, long before sin entered the story.

God never intended us to renovate our lives in isolation. He shapes us through relationships with people who encourage us, challenge us, carry our burdens, and remind us of His faithfulness when life's storms arrive. The strongest homes aren't built by one person, and neither is a strong faith. As we walk with Christ, He often works through the people He places beside us.

This week, take a moment to thank God for those who have helped strengthen your faith, and ask Him to show you who might need your encouragement today.

Think of one area of your life where you've been trying to carry the weight alone.

Maybe it's a struggle you've kept hidden, a difficult decision, or simply feeling overwhelmed. Instead of convincing yourself you can manage it by yourself, take one small step this week: invite someone trustworthy into the conversation.

Send a text. Make the phone call. Meet for coffee. Ask for prayer.

God often answers our prayers through the people He places in our lives. Sometimes the bravest step we take isn't doing more, it's allowing someone else to walk beside us.
