Livestream Update

Livestream Update

This Sunday, we won't be livestreaming our worship service due to licensing restrictions.

If you're unable to join us in person, we'll post a link to Shaila Visser's message from Alliance General Assembly 2026 on our website following the service, so you can watch the message at your convenience.

Thank you for your understanding. We hope you'll join us in person this Sunday as we gather for worship and fellowship.

 Morning Worship – 11 AM,

Join us this Sunday as we gather to worship together, encourage one another, and spend time in God's Word.

This week, we'll be sharing a portion of the evening service from the Alliance Canada General Assembly, featuring Shaila Visser, National Director of Alpha Canada and Global Senior Vice President of Alpha International. We look forward to hearing her encouraging message and the ways God is at work through His Church.

Pastor Heath will be away this weekend as Heather undergoes surgery on Friday afternoon. We invite you to keep Heath, Heather, and their family in your prayers, asking God for peace, wisdom for the medical team, a successful procedure, and a smooth recovery.

During the summer months, our Nursery and Kids' Church ministries are taking a seasonal break. Families are invited to pick up a Summer Worship Pack from the foyer before the service, filled with colouring pages, activity sheets, crayons, and other quiet activities for children to enjoy during the service.

If someone has been on your heart lately, this could be the perfect Sunday to invite them to join you.

We look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday!

Kick-Off Sunday BBQ

Kick-Off Sunday BBQ

Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 13! Join us at 11:00 AM as we kick off a new ministry season and celebrate baptisms together.

After the service, everyone is invited to stay for a free Church BBQ with burgers, hot dogs, chips, ice cream, and plenty of fellowship.

We could use a few helping hands! If you're able to help with setup, grilling burgers, or cleanup, we'd love to have you serve.

Bring your family, invite a friend, and plan to stay after the service as we celebrate the start of another exciting ministry season together.

Potluck Ministry

Potluck Ministry

Some of the most meaningful ministry happens around a table.

Our Potluck Ministry helps create a warm and welcoming space where our church family can share a meal, build friendships, and enjoy fellowship together on the first Sunday of each month.

Whether you enjoy working in the kitchen, helping prepare and organize food, setting up tables and chairs, or pitching in with cleanup afterward, there's a place for you to serve. Every helping hand makes these gatherings possible and helps create an environment where people feel welcomed and connected.

As we prepare for our Kick-Off Sunday BBQ and another exciting ministry season, this is a great opportunity to jump in, meet others, and discover the joy of serving behind the scenes.

Interested in helping? We'd love to connect with you! Contact the office if you are interested in joining this team! (info@slavelakealliance.com)

Including a special Baptism Celebration

Join us as we celebrate our Fall Kick-Off with a special Baptism Celebration during the service!

Baptism is a joyful opportunity to publicly declare your faith in Jesus Christ and celebrate the new life He has given.

Have you been thinking about being baptized? We'd love to talk with you. Please connect with Pastor Heath if you're interested or would like to learn more.

Let's come together as a church family to celebrate what God is doing in the lives of His people!

Midweek Morning Bible Study

Midweek Morning Bible Study

We're excited to announce that our Midweek Morning Bible Study will be returning this fall!

Soon, we'll gather on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 AM to study God's Word together, share meaningful discussion, pray, and encourage one another.

Whether you've been part of a Bible study for years or you're taking your first step into a small group setting, everyone is welcome.

We're just putting the finishing touches on the details, including our start date and study format. Be sure to watch our website and weekly newsletter for updates and registration information.

We look forward to growing together in God's Word this fall.

Storms don't always arrive with wind and waves.

Storms don't always arrive with wind and waves.

Sometimes they come as unexpected phone calls, uncertain diagnoses, difficult conversations, financial pressures, or seasons where the future feels unclear.

Paul's journey reminds us that faith doesn't remove the storm, but it does change how we walk through it. While everything around him seemed uncertain, Paul remained anchored to the certainty of God's promises. The circumstances were frightening, but God's faithfulness never changed.

Wherever this week finds you, remember that the same God who was faithful to Paul is faithful today. He is present in every storm and can be trusted to carry us safely through according to His purposes.

Anchor Yourself

Anchor Yourself

Take a few quiet moments each morning this week and ask:

"What promise of God do I need to remember today?"

Choose one verse or promise from Scripture and return to it whenever anxiety or uncertainty begins to rise. Rather than focusing on the size of the storm, allow God's promises to become the anchor that steadies your heart.
