This Sunday at SLAC

This Sunday at SLAC

We're looking forward to another Sunday together at SLAC as we return to our fall sermon series, Called to Be!

Our morning begins at 9:30 AM with Sunday Morning Bible Study. Whether you've been attending regularly or are considering joining for the first time, you're always welcome to come early and spend time together in God's Word.

At 11:00 AM, we'll gather for Sunday Morning Worship as Pastor Heath continues our fall series:

Called to Be | What Is God Calling Us to Be?

After taking a break from our series last Sunday for a special Thanksgiving message on gratitude, we're picking up where we left off! So far, we've explored Community, Charity, and Corporate. This Sunday, we turn to the fourth “C” in our Called to Be series: Celebration.

Nursery and Kids' Church are available during the service. Children attending Kids' Church will begin the morning with their families and be dismissed before the message.

Nursery: Ages 0–3
Kids' Church: Ages 4–11

And as you make your Sunday plans, consider inviting someone to join you. Sometimes a simple invitation is all it takes to help someone feel welcome and connected.

Sunday Morning Bible Study • 9:30 AM
Sunday Morning Worship • 11:00 AM

We look forward to gathering and worshipping with you this Sunday!

Who's ready for a road trip?

Our youth are heading to Activate in Edmonton for an afternoon of interactive games, friendly competition, and plenty of laughs!

We'll make a day of it with lunch in Westlock on the way down, just over an hour of action-packed fun at Activate, and some free time to explore nearby stores (including Value Village!) before heading home.

Here's the game plan:

  • 9:45 AM: Meet at Slave Lake Alliance Church

  • 10:00 AM: Depart for Edmonton

  • Lunch: Stop in Westlock

  • Afternoon: Activate and shopping

  • 4:00 PM: Depart Edmonton, with supper in Westlock

  • 7:15–7:30 PM: Estimated return to Slave Lake

Cost: $29 for Activate admission, plus money for lunch, supper, and optional shopping.

Calling All Parent Drivers!

We need a few willing parents to help get our youth to Edmonton and back!

If you can drive, please contact Theresa and let her know how many passengers your vehicle can accommodate.

The Christmas Story Needs a Few More Characters... Could One Be You?

The Christmas Story Needs a Few More Characters... Could One Be You?

Have you ever watched something come together at Christmas and thought, “That looks like fun! I wonder what goes into making that happen?”

Well, here's your invitation to find out!

We're putting together something a little different for Advent and Christmas Eve at SLAC this year. There will be storytelling, a little nostalgia, some laughter, and a few surprises along the way.

But we can't bring it to life without a few more people!

We're looking for people who would enjoy:

  • Planning & creating: Helping shape ideas and bring the pieces together.

  • Behind-the-scenes magic: Organizing, coordinating, setting up, or helping things run smoothly.

  • Stepping into the story: Taking part in short, lighthearted scenes during Advent or Christmas Eve.

All ages are welcome, and no acting experience is required! You don't need to be involved in everything. Even helping with one small piece could make a difference.

Maybe you're creative. Maybe you're organized. Maybe you enjoy being on stage. Or maybe you're simply curious.

We'd love to hear from you!

Reach out to Tracey at tracey@slavelakealliance.com or chat with her at church.

You don't need to know exactly how you'd like to help. Just let us know you're interested, and we'll find a place to start!
