Slave Lake Alliance Church
Newsletter for Friday May 22, 2026
This Sunday

This Sunday

 Morning Worship – 11 AM,

This Sunday at SLAC

As we gather this Sunday, we’re looking forward to being together as a church family—worshipping, learning, and following where God is leading.

Join us in a time of worship through music, lifting our voices together and creating space to refocus our hearts on Him.

Pastor Heath will continue our series in Acts, When the Spirit Moves, the Church Acts, with this week’s message:
“A Little Disturbance Concerning the Way” (Acts 19:11-41).

For families, Kids’ Ministries are available during the service, with Nursery for newborns to age 5 and Kids’ Church for ages 6–11. Children will be dismissed after the music portion of the service.

If someone has been on your heart lately, this could be a great Sunday to invite them to join you.

We’re grateful for each of you and look forward to gathering this Sunday again.

A Different Pace for Summer

A Different Pace for Summer

Slowing down to notice where God is moving in everyday life.

As summer begins to settle in around us, many of our regular ministries and programs are beginning to wrap up for the season. While calendars may start to look a little lighter, our desire as a church family is that our faith wouldn’t slow down alongside them.

In many ways, summer gives us a different kind of opportunity. A chance to slow down. To breathe a little deeper. To reconnect with God in the middle of everyday life. Around campfires, on road trips, over coffee, during quiet mornings, or sitting outside watching another Northern Alberta sunset roll in.

Over the coming weeks, you’ll begin to notice a few new features woven into our weekly newsletter. Simple reflections and encouragements designed to help us continue walking with Jesus throughout the summer months.

Coffee With Scripture
Short devotional thoughts rooted in God’s Word for everyday life.

Acts in Everyday Life
Practical reflections connecting our Sunday Acts series to Monday morning living.

Tiny Practices
Small spiritual challenges and intentional habits to help us slow down and notice God in ordinary moments.

As a church, we believe discipleship doesn’t pause for summer. Sometimes it simply changes pace.

Whether you’re staying close to home, heading to the lake, travelling, working, or simply trying to enjoy the longer days, our hope is that these little moments of encouragement help keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and your heart connected to community.

And of course, while many ministries take a summer pause, our Monday evening Prayer Meeting continues year-round, and we’d love for you to join us.

Let’s continue walking together, listening for where the Spirit is leading, and living out our faith in everyday life this summer.
