Canada Day Weekend. Upcoming Service. Nursery.

Slave Lake Alliance Church
Newsletter for week of Friday July 1, 2022
This Weekend - Sunday, July 3

This Weekend - Sunday, July 3

What comes to mind when we hear the word "summertime"? Relaxed, balmy evenings, or longer days and a bit of a slower pace? Maybe we think of lazy, hazy days with the family vacationing at the lake or beach. Sounds like fun, right? But how can we combine those fun summer pastimes with others, share our faith and develop community and relationships? We're already enjoying the beauty of God's amazing creation, so what can we do to share these amazing gifts from God with our family and friends... maybe even our neighbours?

Regular in-person church service this week - 11 AM.

Join us in-person or online. Pastor Heath will be teaching from John 12:1-11 "For His Glory"

REMINDER: No Adult Class for the summer months!

What Do We Make Time For?

What Do We Make Time For?

The world can consume us with busyness. The devil has made a creative way to distract us from the very thing we need. We need to pray. God created us to be in communion with Him always. When we are not with Him, we can feel overwhelmed and completely out of sorts. We become what we make time for. We find what we seek. Our body goes where our mind takes it. So then, does it not stand to reason that our whole world can feel haywire when we do not take time to pray and be with God? We need to fill our days with worship and prayer. Seeking His counsel in everything will keep us grounded and steady in this shaky world. When we take time for Him, all is made right.

Proverbs 16:3 - Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. (ESV)

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Guide us to You. Help us recognize when we become distracted by the world and not consumed by You. We want to stay in Your peace and comfort. We know we can only do this by seeking You. Give us a discerning heart to know how to sit in Your presence when we need it most and when we do not need it. Amen.
