This Sunday at SLACFall Kick-Off Sunday! This Sunday is going to look a little different, and we have so much to celebrate together! As we officially kick off a new season at SLAC, our morning will be centred around celebrating what God is doing in the lives of people within our church family. We'll have the joy of witnessing Believers Baptisms, celebrating a Baby Dedication, and worshipping together as we begin another fall season of ministry and community. There won't be a traditional sermon this week, but we'll be sharing a first glimpse of our new sermon series through the series introduction we created for what's coming next. It's a chance to begin turning our attention toward what it means to be the Church and the calling we share together. And don't head home after the service! Everyone is invited to stick around for our Fall Kick-Off BBQ immediately following worship. We'll have burgers, hot dogs, chips, beverages, and ice cream, with plenty of time to visit, reconnect after the summer, welcome some new faces, and simply enjoy being together. Whether you've been part of SLAC for years, joined us recently, or haven't been around for a while, this is a great Sunday to come back, bring someone with you, and celebrate with us. Sunday Morning Worship begins at 11:00 AM. Come ready to worship, celebrate, eat, and spend some time together. We can't think of a better way to begin the fall! If someone has been on your heart lately, invite them to join you. We'd love to welcome them. We look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday! For more infomation visit:

YOUTH ALPHA THIS FALL!Big questions. Real conversations. A place to belong. Something new is coming for our youth this fall! Beginning in October, our Youth will be journeying through Alpha Youth, gathering every other Sunday evening to explore some of life's biggest questions together. Alpha Youth creates a welcoming space where young people can come as they are, build friendships, and have honest conversations about life, faith, purpose and Jesus. There's no pressure to have all the answers, and no question is off limits. Each gathering combines connection, engaging content and conversation in an environment where youth can participate, ask questions, share what they think, or simply listen. And this isn't only for youth who already attend church. Alpha Youth is a place to invite a friend. It's for young people who are curious about faith, wrestling with questions, looking for community, or simply wondering whether there might be something more. Sunday evenings • Twice a month
Youth, start thinking about who you could invite to join you! |

The Quiet Ministry of Prayer
Not every ministry happens on a Sunday morning. Some of the most important ways we care for one another happen quietly, behind the scenes, and often without anyone else knowing. Each week, members of our church gather for Monday Prayer, bringing the needs of our church, our community, and one another before God. Alongside them, our Prayer Chain helps ensure that when a prayer request is shared, there are people within our church family intentionally lifting that need in prayer. This ministry doesn't require a stage, a schedule, or public recognition. It does require compassion, faithfulness, discretion, and a willingness to pray for others when they ask us to stand with them. For some, that may be exactly where God has gifted you to serve. Because prayer requests can involve personal or sensitive circumstances, participating in the Prayer Chain carries a special responsibility and isn't quite the same as signing up for another volunteer team. But we also don't want to overlook someone whom God may be calling to this quiet and important ministry. If you have a heart for prayer and feel that serving our church family in this way may be a place for you, we'd love to begin that conversation. Sometimes finding your place isn't about being seen serving. Sometimes it's about faithfully praying when no one is watching. One Church. Many Gifts. One Mission. |
