Advent. Book of John. Prayer Meeting.

Slave Lake Alliance Church
Newsletter for December 10th, 2021
It's Beginning to look like Christmas...

It's Beginning to look like Christmas...

Dear Slave Lake Alliance Church Family,

We are counting down the days and praying for you and your family during this season!

We know that the holiday season brings joy and celebration, and it can also bring sadness, longing, stress or worry to the forefront.  In all things, we are reminded that God is our strength and His power enables us to overcome that which we feel we cannot on our own strength.  We celebrate that He is always with us!

The book of John is a great reminder of who Jesus is, and we invite you to consider joining us as we continue through studying John in the month of December.

Reminders for church family:

It has been very icy lately, please use caution in our church parking lot and around town as you move about.

We are still needing to wear masks indoors and during our church services. Masks are available at the church also.

CANCELED FOR DECEMBER

Will resume in January!

Advent - Week Three - Joy

Advent - Week Three - Joy

The promise of a Saviour is Good News. Joyful News!

The season of Advent offers many moments to live into the profound joy offered by Jesus. This joy is deeper, richer, and more lasting than the happiness offered by worldly pursuits.

Perhaps God is using this Advent season to remind you that the true joy of Christmas is found in Him. If you stripped away the gifts, lights, food, festivities, and traditions, could you still find joy?

How might God be calling you to experience His joy this Advent more deeply?

Book of John

When did you truly believe?

Last week we began chapter two in the Gospel of John, where we find the account of Jesus' first miracle and how those around him began to believe. In his message titled "First Sign," Pastor Heath cautioned us that what we believe about Jesus matters, and to be, become and do what Jesus did, we need to believe in Him, not just about Him. Simply believing about Jesus does not move us to action, but believing in him affects what we do and who we are. That belief leads us to action. The deeper we believe in Him, the greater things we will see and do.

We look forward to you joining us this week for Week 6's message "Distracted" as we continue in our series Believe.
