What to Expect?

As a newcomer, you may have questions or hesitations. Whether you're exploring Christianity for the first time, or you've attended church before, we're here for you.

No matter your background or the reason you're searching for a church, you are always welcome at Slave Lake Alliance Church.

We want your visit to feel comfortable and free of surprises, so we've put together a list of frequently asked questions. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to message us, and we'll be happy to connect with you.

What is it like?

We strive to welcome all who attend our Sunday morning service to create a comfortable atmosphere better suited for hearing God's Word.

What about my kids?

Located beside the sanctuary is our parent room for a more private place to be with your young children.

From September to June, we offer a supervised Nursery for kids up to age five, and for our primary school-aged kids(6-11), we offer Kids' Church during the service.

Where do I park?

We have a large parking lot located onsite. Visitor and Handicapped parking is directly in front of the entrance with the option of steps or a wheelchair ramp.

What do I wear?

We want you to feel comfortable. On any given Sunday, you will see a mix of suits, jeans, dresses, and T-shirts. Join us just as you are. There is no dress code.

Where should I sit?

In short, anywhere you like. Sit up front, at the back, on the right or left. There is no assigned seating.

Will I be singled out as a visitor?

No, we will not put you on the spot. Your comfort is important to us. We would love for you to reach out to us, though.

What kind of music can I expect?

You can expect a full worship team that is typically made of vocalists, piano, electric, acoustic, and bass guitars, and drums. Our worship teams ensure musical delights for all, from traditional hymns to current Christian hits.

Do I need a Bible?

Bible verses shared by the Pastor will be displayed on large screens for all to read. If you have a Bible, please feel free to bring it. If you don't have a Bible, visit the Information Center, as we would love to provide one at no cost. Another great option is downloading the Bible app for free on your phone.

How will I know when to stand or when to sit?

It can be unnerving not knowing what actions are needed at certain times. We would like to reassure you that all types of worship are welcome. If you are comfortable sitting, please sit. If you would like to stand, please stand. We also provide instruction during the service.

How long can I expect the service to go?

We keep our services to about 75 minutes.

How can I get connected?

You can talk to one of our Ushers at the sanctuary doors on Sunday Mornings or call/email our office directly for information on small groups, church activities, and more.
