What's happening at SLAC
Here we are... the last weekend of August and a very busy one! Soon, kids will be back at school, with calendars filling up with activities and due dates for assignments and appointments. We want to highlight a few things on the horizon as we begin to launch into the fall season. Upcoming things to be aware of: Adult class starting on Sundays- studying Hebrews, Date: TBA Kids Ministry - We would love feedback on our children's ministry plans, especially from all the parents out there. As a step in that direction, you can complete this short survey (click link below), and as always, talk to us at the office or send an email with your thoughts or ideas. Thank you to those who have completed the survey to date! We are open to new ideas/ministries that people have a vision for! Let us know!

All In Community Pancake BreakfastSaturday, August 28, 2021 We are excited and praying for those whom God will bring to our building on August 28! Let's gather together and show love and care to our community. Tomorrow is the day! It's not too late to come and join the crew and help out! So many hands make light work! Set-up begins at 8 am, and we need strong backs to help move tables and chairs from the learning centre to the front parking lot, batter prep and sausage cooking to begin shortly after and as always, we need smiling faces to serve and mingle!

A Journey to Spiritual Wellness - Week Three
Do you feel that you cannot escape feelings of hopelessness, indifference, apathy or despair? Are heavy burdens weighing you down? Have the past 17 months left you feeling disconnected, lonely and spiritually drained? This week brings us week three of our Series "Journey to Spiritual Wellness," and to date, we have been challenged each week to take an inventory of ourselves and our current spiritual wellbeing. Week one, pastor Heath challenged us to ask, "Soul, why are you in so much turmoil?" and the hope in God for the answer. Week two's challenge was to humble ourselves and, with confidence, ask the Lord for clarity as to why our souls are so downcast. Join us this week for a new challenge and inspiration on finding balance and being committed to being wholly committed to holiness. As we worship in song, prayer and through the reading of God's Word through this series, we pray that you join us in putting our mission statement into action. For more infomation visit:

Thank YouMoon Family Update On Thursday, August 26th, Trudie was able to return to the comfort of home and, in her words, "to cook for herself". (I guess hospital food is as horrible as everyone says!) We appreciate all the thoughts, prayers, and messages sent during her stay! We would also like to thank all those who took time out of their busy schedule to prepare meals, there was so much and very much enjoyed! You truly showed that the SLAC family loves and cares for the physical needs of one another! |
50th Anniversary CelebrationSunday, September 12, 2021 The celebration service is just two weeks away! Join us as we celebrate our journey these past 5 decades. This service will include special presentations, a walk-thru time, and a bright outlook for the next 50! Of course, a celebration is never complete without food, so there will be a simple BBQ of hamburgers, chips, and drinks following the service.
