What's happening at SLAC
Adult class starts this weekend - studying Hebrews, Sunday at 9:30 am upstairs at the church. Note regarding adult class: EVERYONE is welcome to attend! If you have children and you wish to attend Doug's Sunday morning group class, you can let the church know ahead of time (don't stay away if you want to come, we can chat!) Updated Public Health Action- On Wednesday, the 15th, the Alberta Government introduced further health action items. You may be wondering how that affects us and our Sunday morning service and in-person group gatherings (study groups, prayer meetings, etc.). There are just a couple of items that affect us. As per the mandate, operating at 1/3 fire code capacity for all activities, including Sunday services, is required. At our current fire code capacity, we can seat 100 guests safely. Masks and two-meter physical distancing between cohorts will be needed while in the building. We look forward to seeing you and worshipping our Lord and Saviour together. AUGUST Financials Income $15,375 Expenses $12,482

Note of Appreciation
A BIG THANK YOU again to all those who helped serve our community in recent weeks, during our breakfast event and also for the bbq last weekend. We are blessed and humbled that God allowed us to come together and serve and we continue to pray for more opportunities to reach OUT and to reach IN, as we take care of each other and fulfill our mission statement which is...."Because we love God and care about people, we are compelled to address the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of our church and our community". |
A Journey to Spiritual Wellness - Week Five
We are journeying together as we look within us and find why we are languishing, feeling joyless and aimless. Weeks 1-4 have challenged us to seek clarity, the lopsidedness of Christianity (the head, heart, and will), and two weeks ago, to let go of past regrets. Join us this weekend for the 5th sermon in our current series, A Journey to Spiritual Wellness, titled "Fear of the Future." Something to ponder in preparation: Is it possible to be so gripped by fears of the future that we become ineffective in the present? |
