What's happening at SLAC this Fall
This is a busy time for us as a church, especially after the not so busy year we've just had! Summer is not quite over and we want to enjoy that, as we also turn to what's next! In planning for fall, we are looking ahead to the men's breakfast starting up again, and planning for ways to serve our families and children. If you are a parent with young kids, we want to reach out and find out how we can serve you better! Look for more specific info coming early next week. There will be an adult class starting up again on Sunday mornings, studying the book of Hebrews. We are open to new ideas/ministries that people have a vision for! Let us know!

All In Community Pancake BreakfastSaturday, August 28, 2021 We are excited and praying for, those whom God will bring to our building on August 28! Let's gather together and show love and care to our community. If you would like to be a PBV (pancake breakfast volunteer) this year, hit REPLY to this message and it will go to our office email inbox. You can let us know if you would like to help and for those seasoned veterans, if there is a specific area (set-up, clean-up, cooking, serving, host/greeter) you are interested in let us know! If you are open to being assigned an area, let us know that too! *Update on volunteers- thanks to those who have talked to us. We are in need of help in these areas (and as always appreciate any and all help to fill in on the day!) -Clean-up crew (clear tables, wipe tables and chairs, help put tables and chairs away) -Welcomers (point people to our washrooms inside if they ask, we would like to have our foyer available as well) -Runners (transport pancake batter/food etc. from kitchen to outside as our cooks require!) -Dishes (many hands make light work!)

Update from the Moon family
First, we would like to say thank you for the prayers, thoughts, and messages. For those of you who have not heard on Monday, August 9th, Trudie suffered from a couple of strokes, and after visits to High Prairie and Slave Lake hospitals, she is now on the path to recovery here in town with an anticipated 3+ week stay at the Health Care Center. Every day is a new day, and steps are taken to recovery as she works with physio and the staff at the hospital. God has been a source of strength and hope, as in the words of Trudie, "my whole life has changed." We serve a mighty God, and He has been very evident in the days since the strokes. The road may not always be smooth and straight, but everything is always in His control and part of the story He's written for us. Thanks again! I lift up my eyes to the hills. Psalm 121:1-2 |
Prepare Our Hearts
Do you feel that you cannot escape feelings of hopelessness, indifference, apathy or despair? Are heavy burdens weighing you down? Have the past 17 months left you feeling disconnected, lonely and spiritually drained? Join us for our next series, "A Journey to Spiritual Wellness," where over the next 10 weeks, we'll discover through scripture how this isn't something new, and we can find hope, reconnect with one another in community and rediscover true joy. As we worship in song, prayer and through the reading of God's Word this series, we pray that you join us in putting our mission statement into action. |
